Legal Design Jam
The EMSOC research project is organizing an exciting and intensive hands-on Legal Design Jam at ICRI on April, 4th (10-14h). The jam is provided in collaboration with the LLM Research Master in Law (KUL and Tilburg University) and Microsoft.
A Legal Design Jam brings together a group of motivated individuals from different fields (e.g. designers, lawyers, policy-makers, coders, innovators, business people…) and, together, give an extreme user-centric makeover to a legal document. Citizens, users, consumers, tenants all have the right to access legal information that is clear and well-communicated. Contracts, policies, licenses and legal rules do not need to be boring, complex and inaccessible. Everyone hates that! Through information design, visualization, plain language and focusing on user experience and scenarios of use, we try to show a new way for designing legal communication. More info on Legal Design here: http://legaldesignjam.com/about/.
The EMSOC Jam will be led by the Italian designer Stefania Passera. During the jam we will be working with some of Microsoft documents and Microsoft representatives will be present to discuss the proposed solutions emerging from this interactive session. A report with the main results from the jam will be available on the EMSOC website.
